free doughnut day

(FRI) FREE DOUGHNUT DAY: Today is National Donut Day - yes....you read correctly. There is an actual national day for donuts. It was created back in 1938 by the Salvation Army to honor the women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I. Wikipedia has more info for you.

Seattle Krispy Kreme locations are giving away one free doughnut per customer. You can get any variety of donut, not just the traditional glazed ones. No coupon is necessary. Just show up! Find a Krispy Kreme store near you by following this link.

Mighty O Donuts is also giving away free mini donuts -- offering glazed Baby-O's, Cini Minis, or Mini Blueberry Monster options from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Again, all you have to do is show up!

Top Pot Doughnuts is in on the fun too. They just tweeted the following: Happy National Doughnut Day!! Enjoy a free doughnut with any coffee purchase at any of our 6 Top Pot cafes!

I haven't heard of any other local deals (Dunkin' Donuts is offering some free donuts, but it'd help if we actually had one out here).
