One of the most popular children's book authors of all, Laura Numeroff makes this special mid-day appearance for her newest book, Otis & Sydney and the Best Birthday Ever (Abrams Books for Young Readers). This enchanting tale of what happens when Otis plans a surprise for his friend Sydney's birthday should join the list of other enduring favorites Laura Numeroff has created over the years—The Jellybeans and the Big Dance, When Sheep Sleep, If You Give a Moose a Muffin, If You Give a Pig a Pancake, and many, many more. (THURS) The World's Largest Ice Cream Social
September is Make-A-Wish Month at Cold Stone Creamery. To support the cause, they are throwing the World's Largest Ice Cream Social on Thursday, September 30, from 5pm to 8pm. You can receive a free 3oz cup of Kate's Creation (Kate's wish was to create the ice cream served at the social). Wonder what that is? It's caramel apple ice cream mixed with chocolate shavings, graham cracker pie crust, and apple pie filling. Drooling yet? I am! So yes, while the ice cream is free, donations to Make-A-Wish are always welcome.
