Island County Fair
Traditional county fair includes entertainment, kids’ stage, carnival rides, parade (10 a.m. Aug. 21), and more. 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 19 through 21, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 22. $7, $5 military, seniors and ages 6 to 15, free ages 5 and younger.

Dragon Park Building Fun!
As if Mercer Island's Deane's Children's Park (known by locals as "Dragon Park") weren't already fun enough, now there's a fantastic, brand-new, drop-in program called "Adventure Playground" available to kids ages 4 to 13. From now through October 28th, drop in any Tuesday or Thursday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm for an afternoon filled with construction fun guided by Parks and Rec employees & volunteers. Kids can channel their inner Bob the Builder by digging, building forts & structures with donated building materials, and engaging in pretend play in this forested setting.

Third Thursday Artwalk
Visit Tacoma’s downtown galleries. FREE, includes the Museum of Glass, Washington State History Museum and Tacoma Art Museum (free 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.). Today, join Lost and Found, a geocaching and geotagging workshop at Tacoma Art Museum. Learn about urban geocaching and geotagging as the museum’s new cachebox and scavenger hunt is unveiled. 5 to 7 p.m.
