bikes for books

Beginning April 1 and ending June 3, first-through third-graders have a chance to win a bike, a helmet and a lock by reading books, giving book reports and entering a drawing slip for every three books read. The Bikes for Books reading program, sponsored by Doric Lodge 92 in Fremont, is designed to inspire the love of reading in children at an early age. A celebration party will be held at the end of the program on Saturday, June 5 at 4 p.m. in the Fremont Branch's meeting room. At the celebration party, one winner will be drawn from the boy's box and one from the girl's box. Each winner is awarded a bike, helmet and lock. The child must be present to win. Certificates of accomplishment will be presented to all participants. For more information, call the branch at 206-684-4084 or Ask a Librarian.
